The State of Qatar participated in the 12th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum (SPILF), which commenced Wednesday at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre in St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi led the State of Qatar's delegation to the Forum. The three-day forum focuses on enhancing cooperation between ministries of justice, current best practices in using digital justice, prospects for digital transformation in justice, exchange of experiences in implementing innovative solutions, updating legislation and legal systems through a technological perspective, and the future of digital law. The forum also discusses the legal framework for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and its role in countering extremist and terrorist activities, cooperation between ministries of justice in international law, and the role of law in enhancing investment and commercial cooperation with busines s partners. The forum agenda includes an open meeting of justice ministers to review successful legal experiences of several participating countries, as well as discussions on common strategic objectives in protecting rights and freedoms, regulating legal professions, and ensuring the rule of law. In a statement to Qatar News Agency , HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi emphasized that the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum serves as a platform for exchanging legal and legislative experiences, reviewing Qatar's legal experience in law enforcement, as well as in developing rules and regulations and consolidating effective justice. The State of Qatar is keen to enrich and develop its legal experience according to the latest legal practices within an integrated system that anticipates developments in justice systems and best practices, HE added. The forum's agenda includes numerous sessions discussing various legal issues such as the future of i nternational law, current best practices in providing international legal assistance in commercial, civil, criminal, and administrative matters, and recent trends in intellectual property.
