Qatar Participates in GCC Economic and Development Affairs Meeting

Kuwait city: HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari led the delegation of the State of Qatar at the seventh meeting of the Standing Preparatory Committee at the ministerial level of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority. The meeting took place in Kuwait, with finance and economy ministers from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states in attendance.

According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting focused on key topics aimed at enhancing cooperation among GCC member states in implementing national economic visions. The discussions included activating the roles and responsibilities of the Economic and Development Affairs Authority and reviewing the roadmap for initiatives and projects designed to achieve Gulf economic unity. The timeline for these initiatives was also discussed, emphasizing the need for alignment with future requirements.

The meeting also covered developments in building a unified Gulf economic model, with a review of the latest updates on the GCC Economic Integration Index. The committee explored ways to improve joint performance based on the index's outcomes.

Progress on approved initiatives under the roadmap was assessed to ensure they support the ongoing journey towards economic integration and shared development goals. The commitment of GCC member states to advance economic integration and strengthen joint cooperation remains a priority in their pursuit of full economic unity.
