Qatar Participates in Meeting Concerned With Creation of Arab Biometric Fingerprint Database

The State of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Interior, participated in the meetings of the committee concerned with the creation of fingerprint database that was held on Monday via video conferencing within the framework of the annual meetings that are poised to be held by the General Secretariat of the Arab Interior Ministers Council.

The meeting was represented by Capt. Khalifa Abdullah Al Kaabi, and Lt. Abdul Rahman Jaber Al Khawar from the Administration of Criminal Evidence & Information at the General Department of Criminal Investigation.

The meeting discussed the creation of biometric database within the available biometric database domain of the General Secretariat of Arab Interior Ministers Council, in addition to setting regulations for them in accordance with the national laws of member states, international conventions and identifying the policy of their use.
