London: The State of Qatar participated in the London Sudan Conference focused on the humanitarian situation in Sudan, with the event taking place in London. Representing Qatar was HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Minister emphasized Qatar's steadfast support for Sudan's unity and sovereignty. She highlighted the importance of enhancing ceasefire efforts, addressing urgent humanitarian needs, and protecting women, children, and civilians. The State of Qatar's commitment to international cooperation and partnership was underscored, with a focus on development and crisis management.

Qatar has actively supported Sudan by co-sponsoring the High-Level Pledging Conference for Humanitarian Response and launching an air bridge for aid delivery and evacuation of Sudanese residents in Qatar. Qatari humanitarian organizations are also engaged in various support projects to mitigate conflict impacts.

The State of Qatar announced a pledge of $75 million to support the Sudan Humanitarian Needs Response Plan and the Regional Refugee Response Plan. Additionally, $10 million will be allocated specifically for programs aiding women in conflict areas within Sudan.

HE the Minister urged backing for political settlement efforts, referencing the Jeddah Declaration and conferences in Geneva and Paris, advocating for inclusive political solutions to ensure Sudan's stability and meet the aspirations of its people. Qatar's dedication to crisis mitigation, sustainable development, and global peace and security was reaffirmed.
