Qatar Society of Engineers Shines at Gulf Engineering Forum in Kuwait

Kuwait city: The Qatar Society of Engineers is making a significant impact at the Gulf Engineering Forum 27 and its accompanying conference, which is being held in Kuwait under the theme "Challenges of Smart Infrastructure Projects."

According to Qatar News Agency, the forum's agenda includes panel discussions led by investment and financial sector experts, as well as leading academic researchers. These discussions are focusing on the themes of financial and environmental sustainability, and the challenges facing investment and environmental engineering projects within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

In addition to the main events, the forum is also honoring pioneers of Gulf engineering, heads of engineering societies, and winners of the Gulf Engineering Forum Project Awards. This includes several leading Qatari engineers who have been recognized for their contributions.

In a related development, Dr. Abdullah Hassan Al Mehshadi has been unanimously elected as Deputy Secretary-General of the Gulf Engineering Union for the next three-year term. This appointment reflects the high standing of Qatari engineers and the confidence the Gulf region places in Qatari engineering expertise, as well as its ability to contribute to joint engineering efforts.

The Qatari delegation, led by Chairperson Eng. Amna Mohammed Al Naama, views this participation as a testament to the Gulf's appreciation of Qatari expertise. It also supports cooperation and integration among engineering societies in the GCC countries, serving sustainable development and creating a long-term professional impact.

The Qatar Society of Engineers has also made a substantial scientific contribution to the event by presenting specialized working papers. These papers address investment and sustainability challenges and propose innovative solutions in smart infrastructure projects, with a focus on engineering and environmental dimensions. They include an analysis of the sustainability performance of the Doha Metro from 2021 to 2024, using the composite sustainability assessment index methodology.

Highlighting Qatar's innovative role, the Lusail Integrated Cognitive Platform project won one of the Gulf Excellence Awards at the Gulf Engineering Forum 27. This award recognizes the project's pioneering role in employing artificial intelligence and systems integration in smart city management.
