Doha: Represented by the Shura Council, Qatar is set to host the meeting of the Standing Committee on Budget and Planning of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) on December 23-24. The gathering will bring together over 100 parliamentarians from member states to deliberate on crucial topics, including the APA's budget planning, guiding its programs and activities in alignment with member state priorities, and reviewing reports and draft resolutions pertinent to the committee's work.
According to Qatar News Agency, a Gulf coordination meeting took place on Monday evening, preceding the committee's main meeting. The coordination meeting focused on aligning Gulf positions and examining major topics on the committee's agenda.
Eng. Ahmed bin Hitmi Al Hitmi, a member of the Shura Council and Vice President of the APA, represented the Shura Council at this preliminary meeting. The APA's assembly includes 45 permanent member parliaments, alongside 14 unions and 10 countries serving as observers.
