Qatar Strengthens Global Cultural Presence with Major Milestones

Doha: HE Chairperson of Qatar Museums, Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, has affirmed that in 2025, the State of Qatar continued to ramp up its cultural presence on the global stage.

According to Qatar News Agency, to mark the nation's National Day, Her Excellency extended her profound thanks and gratitude to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani in recognition of his judicious guidance and enduring confidence, as well as a national vision that has made culture a core pillar in the development path and an effective component in strengthening a tight-knit society, which continues to remain open to the world.

The year 2025 represented a pivotal milestone in this national pathway, with the State of Qatar honoring landmark achievements which underscored a decades-long gestating institutional work, marking 50 years since the establishment of the Qatar National Museum (QNM), and 20 years since the inception of Qatar Museums (QM), HE Sheikha Al Mayassa highlighted.

Sheikha Al Mayassa noted that these institutions were established to serve the society, protect the national memory, as well as the shared cultural heritage.

Concurrently, yet, she pointed out that the nation strengthened this presence through outstanding achievements that have elevated its cultural presence to new heights, represented in launching Qatar's permanent national pavilion in the Giardini of the Venice Biennale, in addition to the hosting of "Art Basel Qatar" in Doha, a move that underscored the confidence of global cultural institutions in the Qatari cultural scene.
