During the press conference announcing the launch of the Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) today, the representative of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Mubarak Al Dosari said that the Ministry's participation as a strategic partner reflects the importance it attaches to sustainability on all levels all year round. The Ministry adopted a strategic approach, which focuses its efforts on supporting the sustainable development goals in the sectors of the youth and sports, in its various activities and projects.
Al Dorsari named a number of the Ministry's initiatives, such as the "We All Have Responsibility" initiative, and the "Ambassadors of Support" program, in addition to the launch of the Sports For All Federation.
Mubarak Al Dosari said that during QSW, the Ministry's employees will plant flowers and plants in the Lusail Sports Arena, and will continue to take care of them, with participants receiving an artistic workshop to support quality of life and improve the indoor environment.
QSW is a national campaign that supports the State of Qatar's vision of sustainability and serves as a unique occasion for exchange with members of the community and stakeholders, to achieve Qatar's sustainable development goals. The week includes a wide range of activities to encourage the general public to adopt a healthier lifestyle, such as sports, recycling, reused materials artwork, beach cleaning, agriculture, and campaigns against the use of plastic materials.
Qatar Sustainability Week 2023 is a step in a path of great successes achieved by this national campaign since its launch in 2016, attracting more than 500,000 community members who participated in more than 1,700 initiatives, activities, and events that focused on consolidating a culture of sustainability in the country.
