Organized by the Qatar Association of Certified Public Accountants (QCPA) in strategic partnership with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Qatar sustainable development and economic diversification conference will kick off on Wednesday. During the conference, speakers from international institutions and organizations, in addition to speakers from the State of Qatar and the Middle East, will discuss topics including the reality of sustainable development in Qatar through Qatar National Vision 2030, opportunities for economic diversification in Qatar, the role of the knowledge-based economy in economic diversification, the role of governance in achieving sustainable development, the importance of sustainable development and economic diversification in facing economic crises, and sustainability standards, sustainable development, and disclosures. The conference is part of the agenda of conferences and events organized by the QCPA, b ased on raising awareness of the importance of sustainable development in improving economic well-being and the standard of living without compromising the ability of future generations to achieve the same goals. The conference also aims to promote efforts in the field of development and sound and green practices, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by all member states of the United Nations in 2015, also known as the Global Goals, as a global call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity by 2030.
