Doha: The Qatar Chamber hosted a high-level business delegation from the Kingdom of Sweden, led by HE Minister of International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Benjamin Dousa. The delegation comprised heads and representatives of more than 40 Swedish companies from various economic sectors. According to Qatar News Agency, the joint business meeting, held at the Chamber's headquarters, was attended by HE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Dr. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Sayed, and HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al-Thani. Also present were HE Ambassador of Sweden to the State of Qatar Gautam Bhattacharyya; HE Ambassador of Qatar to Sweden Nadya bint Ahmad Al Sheebi; several members of the Chamber's Board of Directors; and a large gathering of businessmen representing around 140 Qatari companies. The discussions focused on cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the commercial and economic fields. They addre ssed the investment climate and opportunities available in both countries, as well as the role of the private sector in stimulating mutual and joint investments and enhancing trade exchange. HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, HE Benjamin Dousa, and HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani witnessed the signing of an agreement to establish the Qatari-Swedish Joint Business Council. The agreement was signed by HE Qatar Chamber's Board Member Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al Misnad, and Vice President of Business Sweden Sara Radu. Speaking at the event, HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani emphasized the Chamber's interest in cooperation, exchanging expertise, and expanding investment opportunities. He noted the growth of Qatari-Swedish relations in sectors such as technology, innovation, renewable energy, and healthcare, stressing the Qatari private sector's intent to deepen cooperation through joint ventures and expertise exchange. Sheikh Khalifa highlighted that the signing of the Qatari-Swedish Joint Business Council marks a pivotal step in enhancing cooperation, serving as a platform to bring together business leaders and companies from both nations. This aims to facilitate joint investments and boost bilateral trade exchanges. He further stated that Qatar is advancing toward a sustainable, knowledge-based economy, offering significant opportunities for Swedish companies to establish investments and forge strategic partnerships. HE Dousa praised Qatar's progress, noting that the business forum reflects a shared commitment to expanding cooperative relations. He welcomed the signing of the Qatari-Swedish Joint Business Council agreement, emphasizing its role in strengthening collaboration, opening new channels for investment, and contributing to a sustainable future. HE Eng. Ali Al Misnad noted strong commercial and economic ties between Qatar and Sweden, emphasizing opportunities for partnership, particularly in technology and innovation sectors. He expressed optimism about the outcomes of the Qatari-Sw edish Joint Business Council agreement in promoting cooperation and economic relations. CEO of Business Sweden Jan Larsson stated an eagerness to partner with Qatari firms on joint projects and mutual investments. He highlighted Qatar National Vision 2030 as a framework providing numerous opportunities for collaboration, particularly in innovation, digitization, education, healthcare, industry, technology, and renewable energy. The business meet included presentations from both sides, featuring Invest Qatar, the Qatar Free Zones Authority, and Mwani Qatar, alongside leading Swedish companies. These presentations outlined investment opportunities and incentives, fostering greater cooperation and potential partnerships between the business communities of both countries.
