Qatar Tourism Chairman Emphasizes Importance of Tourism in Fostering Global Cooperation

Davos: HE Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Visit Qatar Saad bin Ali Al Kharji participated in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland. He joined a high-level panel discussion hosted by the Financial Times at the Invest in Qatar pavilion, which addressed the future of global tourism and its role in shaping economic and social progress.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the session, HE Al Kharji emphasized the growing importance of tourism as an engine for international cooperation, innovation, and sustainable development in the evolving global landscape. He highlighted the sector's role in fostering cooperation, openness, and innovation amid global uncertainties.

His Excellency stated that tourism remains a pillar of connectivity, cultural exchange, and sustainable growth as destinations adapt to rapid economic and technological changes. He outlined Qatar's long-term vision, which focuses on strengthening international partnerships, driving economic diversification, and leveraging innovation to deliver meaningful and future-proof visitor experiences.

HE Al Kharji also underscored Qatar's vision for tourism development, which is based on strategic partnerships, digital transformation, and sustainable growth. This approach aims to solidify tourism's position as a key contributor to national economic diversification and enhance Qatar's global presence.
