QatarDebate Center Organizes Panel Discussion in Davos on Youth Role in Shaping Middle East Future

Davos: QatarDebate Center, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, organized a panel discussion in Davos, Switzerland, in collaboration with the Kurdistan House. The panel, themed around youth voices: shaping policy and the diplomatic future of the Middle East, aimed to foster the role of youth in charting the region's future politically and diplomatically, while expanding cooperation between generations and institutions.

According to Qatar News Agency, the event addressed the foremost challenges faced by the Middle East region and highlighted the importance of helping youth navigate the divisions faced by previous generations. The focus was on representing youth in international forums by presenting an innovative vision that supports regional partnership and contributes to achieving a sustainable future.

The panel discussion emphasized the importance of investing in youth potential and promoting their presence in crafting international policies. A host of experts and activists interested in global issues participated in the panel, including Bina Qardaghai, advisor in the office of the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Doha Forum General Manager Maha Al Kuwari, and youth representative of QatarDebate and special envoy for debates, Ahmed Al Nuaimi.

Qardaghai underscored that the Kurdistan Region of Iraq recognizes the youth's pivotal role as future leaders, stressing the need to dedicate platforms to amplify their voices and contribute to policy formulation that serves the region's peoples. Al Kuwari highlighted the youth's essential potential and innovation to keep pace with rapid global evolution, emphasizing the importance of investing in their vision for a more inclusive and collaborative future.

Al Nuaimi emphasized that dialogue is a critical tool for overcoming challenges faced by youth. He viewed the panel discussion as an opportunity for joint thinking and action to achieve a better future for the Middle East.

The panel concluded with several recommendations, prominently featuring the need to enable youth to actively engage in making positive changes in the region and building a more secure and stable future through political management that supports a lasting vision in education and health.

The panelists stressed the importance of listening to youth voices in international forums and ensuring their engagement in economic and sociopolitical activities to achieve the intended goals.
