QatarDebate Organizes ‘Let’s Debate’ Forum for Qatari Students in UK

Qatar: QatarDebate Center, a member of Qatar Foundation, in cooperation with the Qatari Cultural Attache in the United Kingdom, organized the "let's debate" forum dedicated to Qatari students studying in British universities. According to Qatar News Agency, the organization of this forum is part of the center's ongoing efforts to promote a culture of dialogue and intellectual empowerment among Qatari youth abroad. The initiative aims to equip students with debate and influence skills, alongside higher-order thinking tools such as analysis and critical thinking, preparing them to engage effectively in academic activities, championships, and international conferences.

In this context, student Sarah Dhiab, the strategic events officer at the Qatari Student Club, emphasized the forum's vital role in shaping the personalities of scholarship students. She remarked that the event offers an intellectual space to use dialogue as a tool for building awareness, promoting values of mutual understanding, and respecting others' opinions, beyond the mere logic of victory.

Dhiab highlighted that the forum sessions underscored debate as a civilized practice that prepares students to manage differences consciously and responsibly, while interacting constructively with contemporary societal issues. She stressed that such initiatives empower students with professional expression tools, enabling them to serve as honorable role models for the State of Qatar in international academic forums.

The forum featured engaging discussions on a variety of current global issues, including technology, social media platforms, cybersecurity, and labor rights. A training tournament was conducted, allowing students to apply their newly acquired technical skills and knowledge, showcasing an advanced level in the arts of dialogue and advocacy rooted in sound logic.
