QatarEnergy Enters Production Sharing Agreement for Guyana’s Offshore Block S4

Doha: QatarEnergy has signed a Production Sharing Agreement for the shallow-water Block S4 offshore the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. The block was awarded through the 2022 Guyana Licensing Round.

According to Qatar News Agency, under the terms of the agreement, QatarEnergy will hold a 35% share, with its partners TotalEnergies, the operator, holding 40%, and PETRONAS holding 25%.

HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs, the President and CEO of QatarEnergy, Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, remarked on the agreement, stating, "we are pleased to secure this exploration block in Guyana, further building on the strategy to expand our global upstream exploration activities."

He also expressed gratitude towards the Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana and the partners involved in the block for their support and cooperation, emphasizing the importance of working together to achieve exploration goals.

Block S4 spans an area of 1,788 km² and is located approximately 50-100 km from Guyana's coast, with water depths ranging from 30-100 meters.
