A delegation from the State of Qatar chaired by HE Special Envoy of the Foreign Minister for Counterterrorism and Mediation of Conflict Resolution Ambassador Dr. Mutlaq Al Qahtani met today with a delegation from the Afghan caretaker government chaired by Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Amir Khan.
The delegations discussed topics related to counterterrorism, enhancing human rights and humanitarian aid. The two sides stressed on the importance of having humanitarian aid reach its beneficiaries, especially with the winter season approaching.
The State of Qatar stressed, during the meeting, on the importance of the continued operation of schools in Afghanistan, and the importance of giving all segments of the Afghan society, including girls, access to education. The State of Qatar also stressed its commitment to continuing work with all Afghan parties and international partners to enhance stability in Afghanistan.
For its part, the caretaker Afghan government expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the role of the State of Qatar in supporting the Afghan people and enhance security and stability in Afghanistan.
