Qatari Athletics Team Set for Asian Throwing Championships in South Korea

Mokpo: The Qatar Athletics Federation has announced the participation of the Qatari national team in the third Asian Throwing Championships, which is set to commence tomorrow in Mokpo, South Korea, continuing on August 21 and 22. The event will showcase the talents of Qatari athletes in various throwing events, highlighting their pursuit of athletic success on the Asian stage.

According to Qatar News Agency, the federation released a statement on its official website detailing the participation of prominent field athletes such as Ahmed Jabreen and Ashraf Al Saifi. These athletes will compete in the shot put and hammer throw events, respectively. The Qatari team aims to bolster its achievements at the Asian level while providing promising athletes with valuable experience.

The federation's statement emphasized that the Asian Throwing Championships will also serve as a platform for enhancing the competitive level of Qatari throwing athletes. This comes in preparation for the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo next month. Ahmed Jabreen is recognized as a leading shot-put athlete in West Asia, boasting a season-best throw of 17.88 meters. Ashraf Al Saifi, with his extensive experience in hammer throw, has achieved a personal best of 78.19 meters.
