Doha: Qatari newspapers have highlighted the significance of the upcoming referendum on the draft constitutional amendment to the State of Qatar's Permanent Constitution, scheduled for tomorrow. According to Qatar News Agency, the editorial from Al-Watan emphasized the General Referendum Committee's call for all Qatari citizens aged 18 years and above, both within and outside the country, to exercise their right to vote. The referendum, set for Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, corresponding to 3/5/1446 AH, pertains to the draft constitutional amendment for 2024 as outlined in Decree No. 87 of 2024. Al-Watan stressed that participating in the referendum is not only a right but also a national duty, contributing to the strengthening of national unity based on solid foundations derived from religi ous teachings, values, and customs. The participation also reinforces the principle of the rule of law within the state. Al-Sharq, in its editorial titled "Tomorrow.. National Solidarity Day," noted that the referendum would see the participation of the nation's citizens, further affirming national solidarity and loyalty to the wise leadership and the values of Shura. The newspaper praised the efforts of the General Referendum Committee in making thorough preparations to ensure smooth voting processes both domestically and internationally, thereby contributing to the referendum's success.
