Doha: Qatari newspaper editorials emphasized on Monday that Qatar bears the just Palestinian cause firmly in its shoulders, as it spares no effort in supporting its brothers and continues to advocate for them in international forums and on their land with humanitarian and development aid. The newspapers reported that HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani took part in the meeting of the ministerial committee assigned by the joint Arab-Islamic extraordinary summit on developments in the Gaza Strip in Cairo on Sunday. HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the State of Qatar's enduring efforts within the framework of its mediation to end the war on the Gaza Strip, expressing its condemnation of the brutal bombardment of civilians and civilian objects by the Israeli occupation forces in the Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al-Sharq newspaper stated that in a commitment to supporting our brothers in Palestine and halting the ceasefire in Gaza, HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs participated in the meeting of the ministerial committee assigned by the joint Arab-Islamic extraordinary summit on developments in the Gaza Strip. The newspapers explained that His Excellency underscored Qatar's enduring efforts within the framework of its mediation to end the war on the Gaza Strip, expressing its condemnation of the brutal bombardment of civilians and civilian objects by the Israeli occupation forces in the Strip.
Concluding its editorial, Al-Sharq emphasized Qatar's efforts to facilitate the negotiation process for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, with the goal of securing the release of prisoners and detainees, ensuring the delivery of more humanitarian and relief aid to the Gaza Strip, and protecting civilians to prevent the bloodshed of our Palestinian brothers in the Strip.
In turn, Al-Watan newspaper said that the Israeli escalation in the Gaza Strip underscores the urgent need to return to the ceasefire agreement and deliver aid sustainably and without hindrance to address the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Strip. The newspaper referred to HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs' participation in the meeting of the ministerial committee, which affirmed Qatar's efforts within the framework of its joint mediation to end the war on the Gaza Strip. His Excellency stressed the importance of concerted regional and global efforts to compel the Israeli occupation to implement the ceasefire deal with its three phases, pending the end of the war and addressing the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Strip.
Al-Watan stressed the immediate need to return to the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the release of hostages and detainees, which entered into force on Jan.19, and was sponsored by the State of Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt, and the United States of America. This undoubtedly constitutes the appropriate ground for the dangerous situation resulting from the continuation of Israeli attacks, and this calls for a clear, decisive and pressing international position in order to stop this brutal aggression, the newspaper concluded.
