Doha: Qatar SC announced today the departure of six professional players from the first football team after their contracts had expired. The club stated on its official X account that Spanish defender Javi Martinez, South African Percy Tau, Brazilian Carlinhos Vinicius, Congolese Ben Malango, Moroccan defender Badr Banoun, and Egyptian striker Ahmed Abdelkader have left the team. The club expressed gratitude for the players' contributions during their tenure with Qatar SC.
According to Qatar News Agency, Qatar SC is actively seeking to secure new signings as part of its preparations for the forthcoming season (2025-2026), which is set to commence on August 14. This strategic move comes shortly after the club, which finished 10th in the league, announced the departure of its Moroccan coach, Youssef Safri, following the conclusion of his contract.
