Doha: Al Duhail SC announced Monday the loan transfer of Brazilian defender Lucas Verissimo to Al Wakrah's first football team.

According to Qatar News Agency, Al Duhail, the runner-up in the Qatar Stars League last season, revealed in a statement on its official website that the club had loaned the 30-year-old Brazilian defender to Al Wakrah. The announcement did not specify the contract duration or financial details involved in the loan transfer.

Al Duhail is currently conducting an external training camp in the Netherlands, which is scheduled to continue until August 4. During this period, the team will engage in several friendly matches as part of their preparation for the upcoming season.

In the 2024-25 Qatari League season, Al Duhail finished in second place overall. The team is set to represent Qatar in the preliminary round of the AFC Champions League, where they will compete against Iran's Sepahan in September.
