Doha: Al Sadd defeated Al Gharafa 2-0 in their match today at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, as part of the third round of the Qatar Stars League (Doha Bank Stars League). According to Qatar News Agency, Algerian player Youcef Atal and Qatar's Akram Afif scored the two goals in the 4th and 51st minutes. With this second consecutive win, Al Sadd raised their tally to six points, moving temporarily into second place on goal difference behind leaders Al Shamal. Al Gharafa, meanwhile, suffered their first defeat of the season, remaining on six points in fifth place on goal difference behind Al Shamal, Al Sadd, Qatar SC, and Al Rayyan.
