Qatari National Basketball Team Gears Up for Asian Championship with Friendly Against India

Doha: The Qatar Basketball Federation has announced that a friendly match will be held between the Qatari national team and their Indian counterpart tomorrow, Friday, at the Federation Hall at Al Gharafa Club. This match is a key part of the team's preparation for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup Finals, set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 5 to 17, featuring 16 teams.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Federation stated that the second phase of the Qatari national basketball team's preparatory program is on track, with upcoming friendly matches designed to enhance the players' physical and technical readiness. The matches aim to develop the team's capabilities by competing against teams with different technical styles.

The preparatory program includes a friendly tournament scheduled from July 28 to August 1 at the Lusail International Arena. Alongside the Qatari national team, the tournament will feature teams from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Japan, providing a robust platform for the Qatari players to refine their skills and strategies.

In a call to action, the Qatar Basketball Association has urged Qatari basketball fans to support and motivate the national team during this crucial phase. The Association emphasized the importance of building a strong relationship between the players and fans to achieve success and aim for the 2027 World Cup in Doha at the highest technical level.
