Doha: In their editorials on Wednesday, Qatari newspapers highlighted several issues that have emerged on both the local and international fronts. They focused in particular on the phone call between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed Al Sharaa. The newspapers also highlighted the call between His Highness and HE President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung.
According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers noted the opening of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2026) in its ninth edition, which will conclude tomorrow, Thursday.
For its part, Al-Sharq newspaper said in its editorial that the State of Qatar spares no effort to ensure regional stability and to contribute to strengthening international security and peace, noting that Qatar continues to play an active role in efforts to reduce tensions, resolve conflicts, and establish peace both within the region and beyond, through numerous mediation initiatives spanning continents.
The newspaper explained that these efforts and initiatives led by the State of Qatar in many regions around the world stem from its belief in dialogue and diplomatic solutions, noting that the phone call between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmed Al Sharaa comes within this context. The call focused on the latest developments related to the situation in Syria, as well as efforts aimed at supporting paths toward peace and political stability through dialogue and peaceful solutions, in a manner that preserves Syria unity and sovereignty over its entire territory.
The newspaper also cited the call between His Highness and HE President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung, which addressed current developments, foremost among them efforts being made to support stability at the regional and international levels.

In turn, Al-Watan newspaper noted the strong and distinguished relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Korea, which were reinforced in recent years, reflecting the shared desire of both countries to expand this cooperation to broader horizons.
The newspaper highlighted the telephone call between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung.
