Qatari Newspapers Highlight Mediation Diplomacy and Regional Stability Efforts

Doha: In their editorials on Sunday, Qatari newspapers emphasized the mediation diplomacy and promotion of dialogue long pursued by the State of Qatar.

According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers noted that Qatar continues its steadfast approach in supporting all efforts to defuse crises and resolve disputes, aiming to entrench stability, peace, and sustainable development in the region.

In this context, the newspapers praised the two statements issued on Saturday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The first statement welcomed the Syrian government's announcement of reaching an agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on a ceasefire. The second statement expressed Qatar's strong condemnation of Israel's repeated violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in casualties.

On the domestic front, the newspapers highlighted the launch of the Web Summit Qatar 2026. They affirmed that Qatar is not just a host of global events but has become a key player in shaping the technological landscape both regionally and globally.

Al-Raya newspaper emphasized that Qatar continues to support the Palestinian cause, viewing it as a matter of justice. Doha has consistently supported the Palestinian people both humanitarianly and politically, emphasizing the need for Palestinians to obtain their legitimate rights. The Qatari role extends beyond political stances to include humanitarian support, such as providing basic services and supporting the health and education sectors.

Al-Raya also noted that amid repeated escalations, Qatar calls for an end to Israeli violations and stresses that political solutions based on justice are necessary for peace. The newspaper concluded that Qatar's steadfast stance is crucial in keeping the Palestinian cause alive internationally and urging the international community to achieve a just peace.

Meanwhile, Al-Sharq newspaper reiterated Qatar's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at defusing crises and resolving disputes. Qatar's foreign policy focuses on promoting international peace and security through mediation, dialogue, and peaceful conflict resolution. The newspaper also noted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' two statements regarding the Syrian ceasefire and the Gaza Strip violations, viewing these violations as a dangerous escalation.

Al-Sharq concluded by stating that Qatar is keen to support efforts ensuring the success of the second phase of US President Donald Trump's plan and the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution No. (2803). However, this requires Israel's full commitment to the ceasefire agreement and restraint from all parties to prevent undermining ongoing efforts.
