Qatari Newspapers Highlight Strong Diplomatic Ties with Libya and Syria

Doha: Qatari newspapers emphasized in their editorials Sunday the strength of Qatar relations with both Libya and Syria, underscoring Doha consistent support for the two countries unity and sovereignty, as well as its commitment to backing the aspirations of their peoples for stability and development. The newspapers said this reflects Qatar longstanding foreign policy of promoting regional security, stability, and joint Arab cooperation.

According to Qatar News Agency, the newspapers noted that the meetings held by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani with senior Libyan and Syrian officials demonstrate the depth of Qatar fraternal ties with the two countries and reaffirm its continued support for political processes and reconstruction efforts aimed at strengthening security, stability, development, and bilateral cooperation while addressing shared challenges.

For its part, Al-Sharq stated that, in line with Qatar's foreign policy which prioritizes strengthening fraternal ties and solidarity with Arab and Islamic countries, it continues to provide unwavering support to its sisterly nations, whether by enhancing bilateral cooperation or by supporting their unity and stability.

The newspaper highlighted HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani meetings on Saturday with HE Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity of the State of Libya Abdul Hamid Mohammed Dbeibeh and HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic Asaad Al Shaibani, saying the discussions reflected Qatar commitment to expanding cooperation with both countries and exploring ways to strengthen bilateral relations, while also reviewing regional developments and issues of mutual interest.

During the two meetings, HE Prime Minister reiterated Qatar's unwavering support for the unity, sovereignty, and stability of Libya and Syria, and backed the Libyan political process, Syria's reconstruction efforts, and both countries' aspirations for development, prosperity, and the rule of law.

Al-Sharq concluded by emphasizing that Qatar remains a leading model in supporting fellow Arab nations, pursuing a foreign policy centered on dialogue and diplomacy that contributes to Arab solidarity, regional stability, and the prosperity of the region peoples.

For its part, Al-Raya affirmed that Qatar foreign policy represents an Arab model based on helping sisterly countries overcome crises, consolidate stability, and support reconstruction efforts in line with the aspirations of their peoples for a more secure and prosperous future.

The newspaper said Qatar consistently advocates peaceful solutions, respect for state sovereignty, and support for national unity, arguing that sustainable development can only be achieved in a secure and stable environment. It added that this approach is evident in Qatar support for Libya through its emphasis on preserving the country territorial integrity, advancing the political process, and encouraging initiatives to rebuild state institutions in pursuit of stability and development.

The newspaper added that Qatar approach is equally evident in Syria through its continued emphasis on the country unity, sovereignty, and independence, alongside support for reconstruction and institution-building to help the Syrian people restore normal life and achieve sustainable development.

Al-Raya concluded that Qatar continued adherence to this policy reflects its conviction that the region future depends on the ability of its countries to overcome crises and build partnerships based on cooperation, thereby fulfilling the aspirations of Arab peoples for security, stability, development, and prosperity.
