Muscat: Recent meetings of the Qatari-Omani Joint Committee in Muscat have marked the onset of a new phase in Gulf economic cooperation, highlighting the commitment of Doha and Muscat to deepen their strategic partnership.

According to Qatar News Agency, these meetings, held during the committee's 24th session, resulted in the signing of a framework memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening trade and investment ties between the two nations. Additionally, a second memorandum was signed between Qatar Development Bank and the Omani Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, furthering bilateral economic collaboration.

The discussions during the Joint Committee meeting covered a wide range of initiatives and proposals in sectors such as agriculture, communications, transportation, tourism, banking, and education. The committee also explored promising investment opportunities in both countries, reinforcing the comprehensive scope of their economic cooperation.

Al-Raya newspaper emphasized the deliberate transition toward a strategic level of cooperation, founded on long-term planning and the pursuit of shared economic and developmental goals. The momentum between Doha and Muscat is seen as a thoughtful move towards serving the interests of both nations through integrated efforts.

Since 1995, regular meetings have underscored the importance of economic and social cooperation, advancing progress and prosperity for their brotherly peoples. The recent meeting reviewed all areas of cooperation, particularly in economic, trade, and development, with a focus on enhancing partnership in ways that benefit mutual interests.

Al-Watan turned its focus to Qatar's education sector, which is considered a crucial pillar of national development. The newspaper noted the recent agreement between the Education Above All Foundation and Qatar Foundation's Pre-University Education as a significant step toward expanding educational opportunities and fostering innovation.
