Dubai: The Qatari Society of Al Gannas clinched third place in the third edition of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing Cup, known as Masters Heats 2026, at Lahbab Track in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event saw participation from 27 teams representing 25 countries. According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team celebrated a notable victory by winning the World Championship title in the Gyrfalcon chick category. They achieved a new world record in this category, clocking in at 17.085 seconds. The team was awarded an official certificate acknowledging this falconry world record. In the competition, the UAE Falcons Federation team secured first place, followed by the Bahraini Committee for Traditional Sports team in second place. Mutaib Mubarak Al Qahtani, Director of Championships for the Qatari Society of Al Gannas and Head and Manager of the Society's team in this international competition, revealed that the team included his deputy, Abdulwahab bin Omair Al Nuaimi, along with falconers Mohammed Saif Al Omran, Mubarak Abdulhadi bin Nayfa, and Hamad Abdullah Al Arjani. Al Qahtani expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance and the results achieved.
