Qatari Teams Gear Up for Participation in Beach Volleyball U-18 World Championship

Doha: The Qatari volleyball team is gearing up for their participation in the FIVB Beach Volleyball U-18 World Championship, which will be hosted in Doha from October 7 to 11 at the Al Gharafa Beach Volleyball Centre. Qatar is set to showcase their talent with two men's teams and two women's teams representing the nation in this prestigious event. According to Qatar News Agency, the men's first team features Moussa Al Khair and Ahmed Ziyad, while the second team includes Jassim Al Tamimi and Saad Al Awad. For the women's competition, the first team comprises Bandah Ibrahim and Maryam Mohoub, and the second team includes Lujain Mahmoud and Celine Mahmoud. A total of 64 teams, divided equally between men's and women's categories, will compete in the championship, with daily matches scheduled across four courts from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. This edition of the U-18 World Championship marks its debut in the region, following previous editions held in Thailand in 2021, Turkiye in 2022, and an anticipated edition in China in 2024. The last championship saw Poland clinching the men's title, with Latvia and Iran securing second and third places, respectively. In the women's category, the United States achieved first and third places, while Spain came in second. With exceptional organizational efforts and extensive preparations by the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA), participating teams have begun arriving in Doha. Chile was the first team to arrive on Monday evening, marking the beginning of what promises to be an exciting championship.
