Qatar’s 3×3 Basketball Team Heads to Bahrain for Asian Youth Games

Doha: The Qatari 3x3 basketball team will leave on Tuesday for the Bahraini capital, Manama, to participate in the 3rd Asian Youth Games, hosted by Bahrain from October 22 to 31, with the participation of elite Asian teams.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Qatari team includes four players: Mohammed Saeed Badri (Al Rayyan), Bakayakani Mbodji (Al Arabi), Mahamadou Diop (Al Arabi), and Azzam Mohammed Yakan (Al Gharafa). The delegation is headed by Captain Yassin Ismail, Director of the 3x3 basketball team.

The team concluded its preparations in Doha with an intensive training program that included technical and tactical drills, as well as friendly matches aimed at testing the readiness of the young players before participating in official competitions.

Captain Yassin Ismail, Director of the Qatari 3x3 Basketball Team, emphasized that the team enters the tournament with high spirits and a clear ambition to deliver an honorable performance. He noted that the players have demonstrated great commitment throughout the preparation period.

He stated, "We have confidence in their ability to compete against the strongest Asian teams. Our goal is not just to participate, but to leave a mark befitting the reputation of Qatari basketball."

He further mentioned that participating in the Asian Youth Games represents an important step in the plan to develop a new generation of 3x3 basketball players, highlighting the Qatar Basketball Association's focus on this category as a foundation for the future of the game in the country.

The Qatari team hopes to achieve outstanding results that will build on the achievements of Qatari basketball at the Asian and international levels, especially in light of the significant development the game has witnessed in Qatar in recent years.
