Doha: Table Tennis Association President Khalil Al Mohannadi said his agenda for the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) presidential election seeks an end to the world body's structural imbalance. Al Mohannadi, who also holds the presidency of the Arab and Asian federations, runs for ITTF 2025-28 presidential term against Petra Sorling of Sweden and Mauritania's Mohamed El-Hacen. The race takes place on May 27 in Doha on the sidelines of the ITTF Annual Meeting.
According to Qatar News Agency, Al Mohannadi said his agenda aims to rebalance the distribution of ITTF financial resources and to promote fair and sustainable development of the sport globally, especially in countries with limited capabilities. He elaborated that over 60% of the ITTF's current spending is directed toward events and operations, with less than 10% allocated to development programs, creating a structural imbalance that must be addressed to ensure fair growth of the sport across all continents.
