Qatar’s Leadership Emphasizes Bilateral Relations and National Initiatives.

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has been actively engaging in fostering international relations and supporting national initiatives. The Amir received a written message from HE President of the Republic of South Africa Cyril Ramaphosa, aimed at enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations. Additionally, HH the Amir extended congratulations to HE President of Moldova Maia Sandu and HM King Tupou VI of Tonga on their respective national achievements. According to Qatar News Agency, The congratulatory messages were further extended by HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, who conveyed their best wishes to the leaders of Moldova and Tonga. In domestic affairs, the Prime Minister inspected the 15th Referendum Committee on the draft constitutional amendments for 2024, emphasizing the importance of citizen participation in the process. HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and other key figures have highlighted the significance of the constitutional amendments, which are seen as a step towards enhancing popular participation in Qatar. HE Minister of Justice Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi and HE Member of the Shura Council Abdulla bin Ali Al Sulaiti echoed similar sentiments, acknowledging the public's positive reception of these amendments. The launch of the National Strategy for an Effective and Highly Productive Workforce 2024-2030, under the patronage of the Prime Minister, marks another milestone in Qatar's development. In anticipation of the referendum, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education announced a day off for students on November 5, 2024. Meanwhile, the Amiri Naval Forces inaugurated the International Joint Maritime Exercise (Al Salam 1) 2024, under the auspices of HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al Attiyah.
