Doha: The fourth round of the Qatar Equestrian Tour - Longines Hathab, one of the country's premier national equestrian series, is set to kick off on Thursday in Doha. The competition, part of the 2025-26 season, is co-organised by the Qatar Equestrian Federation and Modern Pentathlon and Qatar Foundation's Al Shaqab. Events will be held at the Qatar Equestrian Federation grounds and the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab.
According to Qatar News Agency, Thursday's opening day will feature the Amateur Riders class with fences set at 100cm, followed by the Bronze Tour for individuals and teams at a height of 120cm. The competition continues on Friday with the Future Riders category for children aged 6 to 12, jumping at 70cm. This will be followed by the Open Class at 110cm, and the highlight of the day - the Gold Tour for individuals and teams with fences up to 140cm.
Saturday's final day will see older young riders (aged 12 to 16) competing in the Future Riders category at 90cm. The Silver Tour will follow at 130cm, with the event concluding with the prestigious Diamond Tour at 150cm - the highest and most challenging class of the weekend.
Now in its ninth season, the Longines Hathab series is regarded as a cornerstone of Qatar's domestic equestrian calendar. It aims to elevate the standard of show jumping in the country by offering a professional and competitive platform for riders of all levels. The tour also fosters collaboration between key stakeholders involved in equestrian sport across Qatar. The current season began last month and has already seen successful completions of the first three rounds.
