Qatar’s Marksmen Triumph at Arab Shooting and Airgun Championship in Oman

Muscat: Qatari marksmen continued their streak of positive results, clinching Tuesday a gold, silver, and bronze at the Arab Shooting and Airgun Championship, convened in Muscat, Oman, until Dec. 26, 2025. Participating in this tournament are 141 marksmen representing 14 countries.

According to Qatar News Agency, Qatari marksmen won medals through the achievements of Salma Al Mas, who secured the gold medal in the 10m air pistol event for women. Meanwhile, the team composed of Salma Al Mas, Duaa Rahmat Allah, and Aisha Al Abdullah won the silver medal in the 10m air pistol team event for women, with Duaa Rahmat Allah snagging the bronze medal in the 10m air pistol individual event for women.

The mixed pair composed of Al Maha Al Ali and Abdullah Al Sunaidi won the bronze medal in the 10m air rifle event on Monday. Qatari marksmen had earlier secured four colored medals, comprising two silvers and two bronzes, at the start of their campaign in the championship.

Abdulrahman Al Sulaiti won the silver medal in the 10m air rifle individual event for junior men, while Retaj Al Yafi won the silver in the 10m air rifle individual event for junior women. Khalid Al Sharshani earned the bronze medal in the 10m air rifle individual event for men, and the team of Al Maha Al Ali, Dalal Al Qubaisi, and Fatma Al Abdulrahman secured the bronze medal in the 10m air rifle team event for women.

With this overall result, Qatar's marksmen have raised their credits to eight colored medals, i.e., one gold and three silver medals, as well as four bronze medals. The Qatari team is participating in this tournament with a delegation of 17 marksmen and markswomen (men, women, junior men, and junior women) in the rifle and pistol contests.

Executive Director of the Qatar Shooting and Archery Federation (QSAF) and Head of the Rifle and Pistol Committee, Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Aji, is leading the Qatari delegation to this championship. The competitions get underway until Wednesday by holding the 25-meter pistol contest for both genders, as Qatari marksmen are determined to earn further medals and hoist the name of Qatar high in this Arab tournament.
