Qatar’s Representation at OCA General Assembly in Kuwait

Kuwait City: HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, the President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Senior Vice President of the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), led Qatar's delegation at the 45th General Assembly of the Olympic Council of Asia, held in Kuwait on Monday. HE Dr. Thani bin Abdulrahman Al Kuwari, the Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia for West Asia and Second Vice President of the QOC, and HE Jassim Rashid Al Buenain, the Secretary General of the QOC, were also in attendance.

According to Qatar News Agency, during the Assembly, HE Jassim Al Buenain delivered a comprehensive update on the progress of the Doha 2030 Asian Games. The update highlighted the achievements made and defined new standards in operational readiness, athlete experience, and strategic planning. Al Buenain emphasized that the Doha 2030 Games will embody the principles of unity, resilience, and shared ambition, impacting athletes, volunteers, and inspiring future generations.

Set to host more than 15,000 athletes from across the continent, the Doha 2030 Asian Games will be the largest multi-sport event ever hosted in Qatar. A detailed technical roadmap has been submitted to the OCA, covering preparations in venue delivery, athlete accommodation, volunteer engagement, digital integration, and sustainability. The Games aim not only to showcase sporting excellence but also to leave a significant, lasting legacy.
