Qatar’s Strategic Diplomacy and Institutional Excellence Highlighted

Doha: The Peninsula has drawn attention to the significant diplomatic exchanges between Qatar and the United States, emphasizing a recent phone call between HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE US President Donald Trump. This conversation underscored the importance of coordinating regional developments and international efforts to reduce tensions. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to dialogue and peaceful dispute resolution, highlighting the strategic depth of Qatar-US relations and their shared belief in diplomacy as a path to stability.

According to Qatar News Agency, this diplomatic message was further reinforced by the visit of HE Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Ali Larijani, to Doha. During his meetings with HH the Amir and HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, discussions focused on regional developments and the urgent need to alleviate tensions. The Peninsula concluded that Qatar's diplomatic efforts serve as a reminder of the importance of engagement, mutual respect, and negotiation in preserving regional stability.

In local affairs, Al-Raya newspaper highlighted the second edition of the Qatar Government Excellence Award ceremony, held under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. The newspaper emphasized that this award is a practical approach embodying the aspirations of Qatar's leadership to build strong and efficient institutions. Under the headline "Qatar Reinforces its Institutional Leadership," Al-Raya noted that the award represents a milestone in implementing the Third National Development Strategy and translating Qatar National Vision 2030 by motivating ministries and government entities to compete in service quality and efficiency.

Al-Raya concluded that this edition of the award is distinguished by its forward-looking approach, focusing on measuring the actual impact of services on people's lives, embracing artificial intelligence, and honoring innovative individuals.

Al-Arab newspaper also praised the Government Excellence Award under the headline "A Leading National Initiative," describing it as a national initiative aimed at motivating government entities to enhance their performance according to international standards. The award encourages innovative work methodologies that improve service efficiency and processes, contributing to digital transformation and institutional excellence.

The results of the award showed a 38% increase in overall performance across government entities compared to the previous edition. More than 97% of government entities improved their performance levels, as confirmed by Director General of Civil Service and Governmental Development Bureau (CGB) Saif bin Ali Al Kaabi. Al-Arab concluded that the award's significance lies in its inspiring models, the development results it achieved, and the participation of over 50% national expertise in the evaluation process.
