The electoral committee of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) adopted the electronic voting, during its meeting on Tuesday, to elect the QFA's president and members of the executive committee which will be held on Thursday within the next Ordinary General Assembly 2023-2027.
Chairman of the electoral committee Abdullah Hamid Al Mulla said the electronic voting is one of the best and latest methods and a cost-effective way for the 18 QFA's eligible members, including representatives of clubs and Qatar Stars League (QSL). He pointed out that the voting process will not exceed one minute to elect candidates for the position of president or the committee's membership.
The electoral committee is hopeful of the QFA's members' cooperation to have a successful new idea which is applied for the first time at the Qatari sport level in addition to highlighting its intended results more plausibly, Al Mulla said, outlining that transition from conventional voting to electronic one came because the committee is convinced of the importance of keeping up with the electronic evolution and capitalize on the cutting-edge technologies in this field.
He thanked the IT department headed by Eng. Jassim Almulla and his work team for accomplishing this unique project that will be utilized in any other elections in the future, whether for the QFA, or other associations when required. He asserted that the committee is ready for any potential technical emergency that might occur as the required tools have been provided to solve any potential issue.
