QFCRA Achieves ISO/SEC 27001:2022 Certification

Doha: The Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) announced Sunday that its Information Technology department successfully achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, the world's leading standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).

According to Qatar News Agency, the rigorous external audit was completed with zero non-conformities, reflecting the robustness of QFCRA's security processes and alignment with international best practices. "Achieving ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification is a significant milestone that reflects QFCRA's commitment to operational excellence, data protection and upholding the highest standards of cybersecurity and risk management. This accomplishment by our IT department demonstrates our proactive approach to strong governance, ensuring compliance with global best practices. With this achievement, we remain committed to building secure, reliable and future-ready systems that support our strategic priorities and reinforce the trust of our stakeholders," said Fatma Abdulrahman Al Meer, CFO and COO of the QFCRA.

QFCRA is an independent regulatory body established in 2005 by Article 8 of the QFC Law. It regulates firms that conduct financial services in or from the QFC. It has a broad range of regulatory powers to authorise, supervise and, when necessary, discipline firms and individuals.

The QFC Regulatory Authority regulates firms using principle-based legislation of international standards, modelled closely on that used in major financial centres.
