Doha: Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) signed a USD one million core contribution agreement with UN Women to support the organization's vital work in promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls around the world. This significant contribution underscores QFFD's commitment to advancing the rights of women and ensuring their full and equal participation in all aspects of life. The funds will bolster UN Women's actions in critical areas, including economic empowerment, ending violence against women, support women's leadership and participation, ensure peace and security and humanitarian action causes. Acting Director General of QFFD, Sultan bin Ahmed Al Aseeri stated, "This agreement with UN Women is a testament to our shared vision of a world where gender equality is a reality. We believe that empowering women and girls is essential for achieving sustainable development and global peace. We are proud to support UN Women's crucial work and contribute to building a more just and equitable world." F or her part, UN Women Executive-Director Sima Bahous said "At UN Women, achieving gender equality and SDG5 is our core priority, but this monumental task cannot be accomplished alone.
