Doha: HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, met with Battushig Batbold, President of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC) and Member of the International Olympic Committee, during his visit to Doha. The meeting focused on exploring sports cooperation and discussing key topics of mutual interest, including the preparations for the Asian Games - Nagoya 2026.
According to Qatar News Agency, the meeting was also attended by HE QOC Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buenain. On the sidelines, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the QOC and the MNOC. The MoU aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation in sports and Olympic development.
HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani expressed satisfaction with the signing of the MoU, stating that it establishes a framework for developing and expanding cooperation. He emphasized the commitment to activating the MoU through programs that promote sporting excellence and support athletes in both countries.
Battushig Batbold conveyed his appreciation for the partnership, highlighting it as a significant step in strengthening ties between Mongolia and Qatar. He noted Mongolia's interest in leveraging Qatar's expertise in sports organization and development.
The signing of the MoU marks a strategic partnership between the QOC and MNOC, promoting shared values in sport, Olympic education, and sustainable development.
