Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has provided the hospitals of Palestines Ministry of Health (MOH) in Gaza with a total of 12 dialysis machines and accessories, as well as life-saving medicines and medical consumables for the patients with kidney failure.
QRCS noted, in a statement today, that providing dialysis departments with equipment and medicines in Gaza" was part of QRCSs unwavering support to the health sector of Gaza. Its aim is to ensure continuing dialysis services, as well as mitigate the impact of depleted medical equipment and supplies for 1,022 patients with kidney failure, indicating that MOH has already received the dialysis machines and accessories, which are being prepared for full operation soon, with a total cost of QR 1,096,000.
Director-General of International Cooperation at the MOH Dr. Marwan Abu Saada, said in a statement that QRCSs efforts to serve patients with kidney failure helped to ensure necessary medical care and equipment.
"I deeply appreciate this generous support from QRCS," he added. "The new dialysis machines will make a big difference in the lives of poor patients. I look forward to further fruitful partnership with QRCS, which would give hope to the beneficiaries." Since 2018, QRCS has been working extensively on dialysis services in Gaza, with three projects to procure 33 dialysis machines, medications, and consumables to MOH hospitals, totaling approximately QR 4.2 million in value.
