Taiz: In partnership with Qatar Charity, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has initiated a significant project aimed at performing 100 free therapeutic catheterizations at the Cardiovascular Center in Taiz, Yemen. This initiative targets vulnerable, displaced, low-income, and disabled patients suffering from heart disease.
According to Qatar News Agency, the project is funded by donations from the people of Qatar, amounting to $100,000. It also includes the provision of essential medical solutions, consumables, and other supplies necessary for the cardiac catheterizations.
Dr. Abu Zarr Al Gendi, Director of the Cardiovascular Center in Taiz, highlighted the ongoing efforts of QRCS and Qatar Charity in alleviating the suffering of patients with heart disease, many of whom cannot afford treatment due to their living conditions. Eng. Ahmed Hassan Al Sharaji, head of QRCS's office in Yemen, expressed his satisfaction at the launch of these therapeutic procedures during the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing the project's role in enhancing the quality of diagnostic and therapeutic services for heart patients.
Dr. Abdullah Al Naim, head of Qatar Charity's office in Yemen, noted that these operations are part of broader humanitarian initiatives aimed at improving medical services amidst Yemen's ongoing crisis. He expressed gratitude to the donors in Qatar for their contributions, which enable such impactful humanitarian work.
In previous collaborations, Qatar Charity and QRCS have equipped the Cardiovascular Center in Taiz with advanced medical technology, such as the Azerion 3 F15, and conducted 404 free diagnostic catheterizations, collectively valued at $1,141,289.
