Doha: HE Secretary-General of Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), Faisal Mohamed Al Emadi, declared the Ramadan Campaign "Fruitful Giving" 2025/1446 AH as an "outright success". Thanks to the generous donations from the people of Qatar, the campaign helped meet the needs of hundreds of thousands of vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals globally during the holy month of Ramadan.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Secretary-General emphasized the enduring spirit of compassion and humanitarian responsibility shown by the people of Qatar. This benevolence is especially evident during emergencies, as Qataris provide assistance to victims of conflicts, disasters, and poverty through their zakat and sadaqah contributions made for the sake of Allah.
Under the Ramadan Iftar project, Qatari food aid reached 761,741 individuals, marking a 29.2 percent increase from the campaign's target of 538,688. QRCS distributed food parcels, meals, and coupons, effectively meeting the food needs of over 147,000 families across 16 countries, including Palestine, Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and several others.
Al Emadi attributed these achievements to the exceptional response from the public, government organizations, and businesses. He highlighted their unwavering support and constant donations to QRCS's humanitarian and development projects, both during Ramadan and throughout the year.
The Secretary-General noted that this engagement reflects the trust in QRCS locally and internationally, underpinned by a longstanding history of excellence, proficiency, and dedication to humanitarian missions. Over the coming weeks, QRCS plans to implement a series of humanitarian programs at a cost exceeding QR 30 million, benefiting over 541,000 people in regions including Gaza, Syria, Yemen, and others.
Locally, during Ramadan, QRCS provided seasonal aid to 2,275 families, totaling 11,375 individuals. This included food coupons for 1,606 families and Zakat Al Fitr for 669 families. Additionally, QRCS distributed 48,070 Iftar meals as in-kind donations, organized a Garangao carnival for hospitalized children, and provided 800 packed Iftar meals to patients, parents, and medical professionals at hospitals.
