QSE Index Drops 32.62 Points at Market Open

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index experienced a decline of 32.62 points, equating to a 0.29% decrease, bringing the index to 10,189 points at the commencement of trading on Monday. This decline was observed in contrast to the previous session's closing numbers.

According to Qatar News Agency, the downturn was predominantly observed across various sectors, with the Transportation sector leading the losses at a drop of 0.41%. This was followed by the Insurance sector, which decreased by 0.38%, and the Banks and Financial Services sector, which fell by 0.32%. Other sectors also witnessed declines, including Telecoms at 0.25%, Real Estate at 0.24%, and Industrials at 0.24%. However, there was a slight increase in the Consumer Goods and Services sector, which gained 0.21%.

By 10:00 am, the trading volume had reached 16.996 million shares, with a total turnover amounting to QR 39.576 million spread across 2,097 transactions.
