QSE Index Edges Down 0.16% at Market Open

Doha: The general index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) edged down 0.16% at the start of trading on Tuesday, shedding 18.20 points to reach 11,386, compared with the previous session's close.

According to Qatar News Agency, market performance was weighed down by declines in five sectors, led by Consumer Goods and Services and Industrials, both down 0.37%. Losses were also recorded in Transportation (-0.27%), Real Estate (-0.25%), and Banks and Financial Services (-0.02%).

Meanwhile, gains were seen in Insurance, which rose 0.92%, and Telecoms, which increased by 0.16%. By 10:00 am, trading turnover reached QR 71.810 million, with 31.290 million shares exchanged across 4,063 transactions.
