QSE Index Edges Lower at Market Open

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index edged down 0.11% at the start of trading on Wednesday, shedding 13.09 points to 11,488, compared with the previous session's close.

According to Qatar News Agency, the decline was driven by losses in three sectors, led by Telecoms, which fell 1.68%, followed by Transportation (-0.32%) and Real Estate (-0.08%). Meanwhile, gains were recorded in Consumer Goods and Services (+0.23%), Insurance (+0.20%), Industrials (+0.18%), and Banks and Financial Services (+0.07%).

By 10:00 am, trading turnover reached QR 90.079 million, with 35.523 million shares exchanged in 5,499 transactions.
