QSE Index Opens Lower as Three Sectors See Decline

Doha: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) general index experienced a decrease of 17.64 points, or 0.16%, at the beginning of trading on Monday, reaching 10,898 points compared to the previous session's close. This decline was primarily due to losses observed in three specific sectors.

According to Qatar News Agency, the market data revealed a positive performance within the Telecoms sector (+0.21%), Insurance sector (+0.11%), Industrials sector (+0.10%), and Real Estate sector (+0.07%). Despite these gains, the overall index was impacted negatively by declines in the Consumer Goods and Services sector (-0.21%), Banks and Financial Services sector (-0.27%), and Transportation sector (-0.79%).

As of 10:00 am, the trading volume amounted to 35.370 million shares, with a turnover of QR 74.787 million across 3,539 transactions.
