QSTP and TotalEnergies Conclude Successful WaterTech Accelerator Program with 11 Startups

Doha:Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP), in collaboration with TotalEnergies, has successfully concluded the QSTP X TotalEnergies WaterTech Accelerator program with a Final Showcase at QSTP in Doha.

According to Qatar News Agency, the accelerator program, which followed its virtual phase, brought together 11 growth-stage WaterTech startups to Qatar for the Doha Immersion Week. The program aimed to integrate these startups with Qatar’s water, research, and innovation ecosystem.

The participating companies are focused on developing solutions to a variety of water challenges. These include generating drinking water from atmospheric moisture, recovering water and valuable resources from industrial brine, reducing water losses, and improving water quality monitoring.

The program featured visits to the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) Water Center, TotalEnergies’ offices, and Msheireb Downtown Doha to explore its Smart City infrastructure. Founders also interacted with representatives from Earthna, Kahramaa, and Ashghal, engaging in discussions and networking sessions to explore Qatar’s water priorities and potential opportunities for collaboration.

The Final Showcase event brought together industry leaders, investors, and ecosystem stakeholders. It featured a fireside chat with TotalEnergies and presentations from the participating founders, highlighting the technologies developed and their potential relevance to Qatar’s water priorities. The event also provided a platform to explore practical applications of these technologies and opportunities for future pilots and partnerships.

Moza Al Naemi, Head of Climate Program at QSTP, emphasized the importance of connecting technology innovators with industry and market needs. The Doha Immersion Week facilitated meaningful engagement between the founders and Qatar’s water ecosystem, helping align promising technologies with local priorities and exploring pathways for their application.

Following the engagement in Doha, the accelerator will continue with an immersion week in Morocco from 16 to 18 November, offering further opportunities for the founders to connect with regional stakeholders and explore collaboration across the WANA region.
