Doha: Qatar Tourism (QT) has unveiled a distinguished seven-member jury panel for its second edition of the Qatar Tourism Awards. These eagerly awaited awards honor organizations and individuals known for consistently delivering exceptional tourism experiences in Qatar. In a statement on Saturday, QT highlighted that the panel Includes , Chairperson of TenX Ventures Sheikha Al Anoud Al-Thani, CEO of Al Wa'ab City, Dr. Abdulla Al Mehshadi, Innovation Expert, Ramzan Al Naimi, Dean of the College of Business and Economics at Qatar University, Prof. Rana Al Sobh, representative of Qatar Museums' Year of Culture program and media personality, Ali bin Towar Al Kuwari, Chief Executive Officer, Sport Accelerator a member of Aspire Zone Foundation, Eng. Azzam Abdulaziz Al Mannai, and Deputy Director, Technical Cooperation and Silk Road Department - UN Tourism, Marcel Leijzer. The panel's meticulous task involves evaluating tourism businesses that excel in seven primary categories: Service Excellence, Gastronomic Exp eriences, Iconic Attractions and Activities, World-Class Events, Digital Footprint, Smart and Sustainable Tourism, and Community Leadership. Each category emphasizes distinct aspects of the visitor and resident experience. The carefully selected panel of judges will evaluate submissions expected to surpass last year's total of over 300 entries from across the sector. Winners will receive extensive promotion locally, regionally, and internationally to enhance their visibility. The second edition of the Qatar Tourism Awards is slated for Oct.27, 2024. Submissions are a straightforward process where applicants need to answer 5 questions and add supporting documents. The application portal launched on Jun. 9, and the deadline for applications submission is Aug.8, 2024. Submissions for the award opened on Jun.9, 2023, and will continue until Aug.8, 2024. The award provides all companies and individuals working in the tourism sector the opportunity to showcase their best contributions, services, tourism innovati ons, and outstanding achievements of institutions and individuals. It also sets new standards in the tourism industry and honors the contributions of entities and individuals who promote Qatar's reputation as a leading tourist destination on the global tourism map.
