Doha: President of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA) Ali Ghanem Al Kuwari praised the Police team for winning the 44th Arab Clubs Men's Volleyball Championship title after defeating Tunisia's Etoile Sportive du Sahel in the final match, which concluded in Tunisia on Saturday.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Police team claimed the Arab title for the first time in its history, achieving a well-deserved victory after finishing third and fourth in the previous two editions in 2024 and 2025. The triumph came on the team's third consecutive attempt to secure the championship.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency, Al Kuwari commended the Police team's outstanding performance and the great effort exerted by the players to secure the title following a highly competitive final against the Tunisian side.
Al Kuwari congratulated the team, its management, supporters, and all volleyball fans in Qatar, noting that the achievement reflects the continued development of the sport in the country. He said the recent successes of Qatari sport in general, and volleyball in particular, are the result of strong support from the country's wise leadership, adding that the Police team's achievement is the product of the dedicated work of the management, coaching staff, and players.
He added that the victory underscores the sustained progress of Qatari volleyball at all levels and signals further success for national teams and clubs in regional, continental, and international competitions.
The QVA President noted that the tournament matches were challenging, but the Police team demonstrated high levels of focus and preparation. He also praised the excellent organization of the championship, highlighting the efforts of the organizers in Tunisia and the important role played by the Arab Volleyball Federation, led by Sheikh Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, in ensuring the tournament's success.
Despite a difficult start, Al Kuwari said, the Police team showed remarkable determination and resilience, regaining its form and ultimately clinching the title through the combined efforts of the players, coaching staff, and management.
He concluded by expressing the QVA's pride in the Police team for representing the State of Qatar with distinction and raising its profile in Arab volleyball competitions.
