Doha: Aspire Academy announced the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Romanian Football Federation, making it the 51st member of the "Aspire in the World Fellows" Programme. In a statement released Monday, the Academy explained that this partnership highlights the growing ambition of Romanian football and represents a significant step towards enhancing the technical capabilities and infrastructure of the sport.
According to Qatar News Agency, Prof. Valter Di Salvo, Executive Director of the "Aspire in the World Fellows" Programme and Director of Football Performance and Science at Aspire Academy, confirmed that the Romanian Football Federation has become the fourth European federation to join this global network, which includes elite clubs, federations, and football leagues. He added, "Since 2014, members of the program have been working to promote innovation, development, and knowledge exchange in football, with a focus on young players. Romania joining us will enable Romanian football to access the latest and best practices in training methodologies, performance management, sports science, data analysis, and nutrition."
The first major joint project will be Romania's hosting of the "Aspire Fellows Workshop Tour- Europe 2026" in Bucharest from April 20-22. This will be the first stop on the European leg of the tour, following previous editions in South America (Buenos Aires) in 2024 and Asia (Singapore) in 2025. This initiative is part of Aspire Academy's ongoing commitment to supporting youth football development globally through its "Aspire in the World Fellows" Programme.
As a member of the "Aspire in the World Fellows" Programme, the Romanian Football Federation will also participate in the annual Aspire Academy Global Summit in late 2026, which brings together all program members to explore the latest innovations in player development and performance and to share knowledge.
